About

“The camera makes you forget you’re there. It’s not like you are hiding but you forget, you are just looking so much.” - Annie Leibovitz

Photography has always been a passion for me. During my first year of completing my degree in visual communication at the Open Window, I decided to major in photography as I found it to be the most powerful and unique means to convey a message or portray an emotion.

During my studies I worked part time at a photographic printer before venturing into school photography and then as a stock photographer for Martin Harvey where I was privileged enough to be be able to use his studio and full range of equipment as well as accompany him on some of his shoots. These images were edited in large format and sold to stock companies such as Jupiter and Getty Images.

Towards the end of my studies I started working as a photographer and studio manager at Life Studios in Brooklyn, Pretoria and then in Sandton, Johannesburg where I enjoyed doing portraiture for families and individuals.

One of my greatest passions always been animals. For many years I worked in the animal welfare industry where my primary focus became the care and rehabilitation of rescued animals for organizations such as Kneading Paws, DogTownSA and TEARS Animal Rescue. During this time I also took portraits of animals to assist them in finding new homes and contributed to footage that could be used in marketing for the welfares.

I strive to capture the essence of everything I photograph in a way that speaks to your needs and desires in a photographic style that serves the subject best. Whether it be your family, your beloved pets or an event or moment you would like to encapsulate in a way that holds that memory forever.
